Future Food Animal Production Efficiency and Acceptability
نویسنده
چکیده
Introduction What is the impact of food animal production in the world? What role does it play in human activity, who benefits from it, who pays costs associated with it and how should it proceed in the future? The majority of this account concerns the relationships between efforts to improve animal production efficiency and acceptability of aspects of the systems which have been developed. However, some initial questions about what is moral and what is sustainable will be considered first.

Extension Education Symposium: The future of biosecurity and antimicrobial use in livestock production in the United States and the role of extension.
As the global population continues to grow, food needs will increase as well. The amount of land and other resources devoted to agriculture production is not expected to grow significantly, leading most to agree that the substantial increases in food production to meet food security needs will come through the development of technologies that improve production efficiency. Diseases are constant...
متن کاملSpirulina; the food for future
Spirulina is a cyanobacterial photosynthesis that is grown commercially in many tropical and subtropical countries and temperate regions for human and animal nutrition. This commercial product is used as a rich source of protein and vitamins in the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries due to its valuable nutrients. In the last two decades, the production of microalgae for food has incre...

A deterministic model based on the gene flow method, considering the features of Iranian Holstein cattle population, was implemented in this study to evaluate the effect of altering the number of age-classes in the dams of future sire (DS) path and the number of dams required for breeding a young bull (YB), to be evaluated as future sire, on genetic gain and resultant economic efficiency of a g...

The objective of this study was to assess environmental impact, economic viability, and social acceptability of 3 beef production systems with differing levels of efficiency. A deterministic model of U.S. beef production was used to predict the number of animals required to produce 1 × 10(9) kg HCW beef. Three production treatments were compared, 1 representing average U.S. production (control)...
